TEMPORARY RESIDENT PERMITS

THERE ARE THREE TYPES OF TEMPORARY RESIDENT PERMITS: VISITOR VISA WORK PERMIT STUDY PERMIT

VISITOR VISA Normally, you apply for a visitor visa from the foreign visa post that is closest to your home. Different Canadian visa posts have different forms for a visitor visa application. Contact the visa post to find out how to apply specifically in that area.

You must satisfy certain conditions to visit Canada: 1. Healthy (might need a doctor's examination) - Immigration will decide if you need this 2. Valid passport and i.d. documents 3. You may need a temporary resident visa (people from certain countries need an additional visa simply to enter Canada - often known as an entry visa)

CONDITIONS (CONT’D …) 4. You may need a letter of invitation - When you want someone to come and visit you usually send a letter of invitation outlining the purpose of the visit and your financial situation, to show Immigration that you can support the person while they visit Canada.
