Lab Questions How were all the unmixed substances similar to each other in terms of their physical properties? In terms of their physical properties, all of the powders were similar because the powders were all white and very fine-grained. What was the only physical property that you tested? What is the definition of this physical property? The only physical property tested was solubility. The definition for physical property is a property that can be determined through the five senses. What were the chemical properties you tested? What is the definition of this chemical property? The chemical properties tested were color changes and “fizzing.” The definition for chemical property is a property that cannot be seen but rather within the chemical makeup of the substance.

Lab questions Describe the difference between a physical change and a chemical change. The difference between a physical change and a chemical change is a physical change does not result in a completely new substance, however a chemical change does 5. What clues did you see that indicated a chemical change? The clues that indicated a chemical change were “fizzing” or a color change. 6. What does fizzing indicate the formation of? Fizzing indicates the formation of a new substance through a chemical change. 7. What does a color change indicate the formation of? A color change indicates the formation of a new substance through a chemical change.
