Menstrual Cycle / Ovulation For starters lets get an idea of a females hormones during the Menstrual Cycle. Hormone level Days

Menstrual Cycle/ Ovulation Continued Basic idea of the Menstrual Cycle Ovulation Ovulation is where 1 or more eggs are released from one of the ovaries Day 1. The vagina starts to bleed Day 8. The egg gets ready to leave the ovary Day 14. ovulation starts Day 25. The egg breaks Day 28. The egg leaves the vagina Each month 15 to 20 eggs mature inside the ovaries The ovaries do not take turns to release an egg. It is random. The menstrual cycle is where the uterus prepares for pregnancy.

Spermatogenesis (Sperm Reproduction) Spermatogenesis starts at the age of 13 and lasts for the rest of mans life. Each time a man ejaculates (the semen that gets pushed out of the males body through his urethra) the fluid could contain up to 500 million sperm. Sperm forms in the testicles, then travels through the epididymis by using their tails, then to the vas deferens, or sperm duct.

FERTILIZATION Well, the sperm have to swim quite a while to get to the membrane, here’s how they get there. First, the sperm travels through the vagina in search for the egg that is located inside of it. Then, it goes through the cervix, through the uterus and fallopian tubes, finally, the egg has been released from the ovary and is waiting to be fertilized. When they get contained by the membrane, one sperm will be able to actually get inside. Once it gets inside, the life is made, then it will travel from the fallopian tubes to the uterus.
