Workforce Recruitment Program Workforce Recruitment Program –The WRP is a recruitment and referral program that connects federal and private sector employers nationwide with highly motivated college students and recent graduates with disabilities who are eager to prove their abilities in the workplace through summer or permanent jobs. (Summer hires are paid internships). The U.S. Department of Labor's Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) and the U.S. Department of Defense's Office of Diversity Management & Equal Opportunity (ODMEO) manages the program. Website: https://wrp.gov Eligibility: Individuals with a disability. Any Veteran with a disability. Students: To be eligible for the WRP, candidates must be current, full-time undergraduate or graduate students with a disability, or have graduated within one year of the release of the database each December. For the 2018 WRP release, interviews will be held in the fall of 2017. A candidate who graduated in April, 2016 or later would still be eligible to participate. Candidates must be U.S. citizens. WRP works directly with college coordinators (Disability/ Veteran/ Career Service Offices) Schools/Colleges College Disability Service Office, Career Services Coordinator and Veteran Service Office: If your school is interested in participating in the WRP please send an email with your contact information to the WRP Coordinator at wrp@dol.gov Employers The federal government can request to gain access to the WRP database to select summer hires and/or permanent hires.

Targeted Outreach and Recruitment: Schedule A The Schedule A Hiring Authority for people with disabilities (Schedule A) is an exception to the traditional hiring process. Schedule A streamlines the hiring process for persons with disabilities and, in some instances, hiring officials may select solely from a list of qualified Schedule A applicants. The Schedule A hiring authority simplifies the federal hiring process. Agencies can hire qualified Schedule A eligible applicants without posting or publicizing the job. How to apply: You can apply using Schedule A if you are a person with an intellectual disability, a severe physical disability, or a psychiatric disability. In order to be selected you will need to show that you meet the qualifications of the job (with or without reasonable accommodation). Contact the Disability Program Manager /Equal Employment Opportunity Specialist in JMC or federal agency of your interest. Note: Not all agencies have a Disability Program Manager (DPM) or Special Placement Program Coordinator (SPPC), so you may need to speak with the Human Resource (HR) Specialist identified on the vacancy announcement. You can also apply on USAJOBS.com website ( be sure to follow application procedures in the job posting) Must submit Proof of disability documentation from: your doctor, licensed medical professional, licensed rehab counselor, of any federal, state, DC or Us territory agency that issues disability benefits. (Documentation is only given to EEO and HR) Schedule A can also be used to hire sign language interpreters, reader’s etc Additional Info: https://www.eeoc.gov/eeoc/publications/abc_applicants_with_disabilities.cfm POC: JMC EEO Office Or EEO office ( Disability Program Manager) at the federal agency you are interested in.

Special Hiring Authorities for Veterans Veterans Recruitment Program – Designed for veterans How to apply: https:// www.usajobs.gov Additional Info: https://www.fedshirevets.gov/job/shav/index.aspx Veterans’ Recruitment Appointment (VRA)-appoint Veterans without competition Veterans Employment Opportunity Act of 1998, as amended (VEOA) - a competitive service appointing authority that can only be used when filling permanent, competitive service positions 30% or More Disabled Veteran allows any veteran with a 30% or more service-connected disability to be non-competitively appointed. Disabled veterans eligible for training under the Veteran Affairs (VA) vocational rehabilitation program may enroll for training or work experience at an agency under the terms of an agreement between the agency and VA. While enrolled in the VA program, the veteran is not a Federal employee. ( VA Non-Paid Work Experience Program ). Though not specifically for veterans, the Schedule A authority for people with disabilities, 5 CFR 213.3102(u), is an excepted authority that agencies can use to appoint eligible veterans who have a severe physical, psychological, or intellectual disability. POC: EEO Offices and/or HR Offices

Pathways Recruitment Program The Pathways Program offers federal internship and employment opportunities for current students, recent graduates and those with an advanced degree. 3 Different Paths: The Internship Program is for current students. If you’re a current student in high school, college, trade school or other qualifying educational institution, you may be eligible. This program offers paid opportunities to work in federal agencies and explore federal careers while completing your education. The Recent Graduate Program is for those who have graduated, within the past two years, from a qualifying educational institution or certificate program. The recent graduate program offers career development with training and mentorship. You must apply within two years of getting your degree or certificate (veterans have up to six years to apply due to their military service obligation). The Advanced Degree Program is for recent graduates with an advanced degree—either a professional or graduate degree such as a master’s, Ph.D. or J.D. You may be eligible if you: Have completed an advanced degree from a qualifying educational institution or program within the past two years. Are a current graduate student and will complete all of your degree requirements (including dissertations) by the PMF application deadline.
