“Lead Me” Psalm 25

“Lead Me” Psalm 25 “To you, O Lord, I lift up my soul” (1-3) Man cannot find his own way (Jer. 10:23) Wait on the Lord, and you will not be put to shame Trust in God’s promises and endure patiently until he fulfills them – you won’t be disappointed We need God, and we must acknowledge that

“Lead Me” Psalm 25 “Teach me your paths; lead me in your truth” (4-5) We need the right directions (Titus 2:11-14) Rely on God’s teaching, not feelings or human wisdom Many people ask God to lead them, and then make up their own way If we sincerely ask God to lead us, we must follow the path he provides (Psa. 119:35)

“Lead Me” Psalm 25 “He instructs sinners in the way” (8) Jesus calls sinners (Matt. 9:10-13) The only sinner that cannot be saved is one who refuses to be (John 5:40) God wants everyone to be saved, and provides the instructions Will we follow them?

“Lead Me” Psalm 25 He leads the humble in what is right (9) Humbling yourself before God involves two things: Admitting you’re wrong and God is right (Dan. 9:7) Sacrificing your will and submitting to God’s (I Peter 4:2) If we will do that, God will lead us If we refuse to follow him, God will not lead us

“Lead Me” Psalm 25 All the paths of the Lord are steadfast love and faithfulness (10) For those who keep his covenant and testimonies Love and faithfulness go together (Lam. 3:22-23) Steadfast love (mercy, kindness) Shown in his Son’s sacrifice (John 3:16) Faithfulness (truth, firmness) Every word proves true (Prov. 30:5) He leads like a caring shepherd (Psa. 23:1-4)

“Lead Me” Psalm 25 Who is the man who fears the Lord? (12) Reverence and respect for God’s power and authority produces obedience Motivated Noah to build the ark (Heb. 11:7) Motivates us to worship acceptably (Heb. 12:28-29) Motivates us to live acceptably (Philip. 2:12-13)

“Lead Me” Psalm 25 He will pluck my feet out of the net (15) God will never lead us into temptation (Matt. 6:13; James 1:13) God will lead us out of temptation (I Cor. 10:13; Matt. 26:41) Sin is Satan’s trap, and only God can set us free (II Tim. 2:24-26)

“Lead Me” Psalm 25 “Make me to know your ways, O Lord; teach me your paths. Lead me in your truth and teach me, for you are the God of my salvation; for you I wait all the day long.” Psalm 25:2-5
