1 God Is (Genesis 17:1), “When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, ‘I am Almighty God; walk before Me and be blameless.’” God can be identified by His characteristics. He is far different than what the pagan minds have imagined Some do not understand who God is, saying that there are two Gods - one in the Old Testament and one in the New Testament. This is not true His unchanging nature is indicated in scripture (Exodus 3:14), “And God said to Moses, "I AM WHO I AM." And He said, "Thus you shall say to the children of Israel, 'I AM has sent me to you. ‘” (Hebrews 13:8), “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Consider some of the most important and singular aspects of God’s nature: Genesis 17:1

2 God Is Right (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 19:7-10) God is right
(Deuteronomy 32:4), [Song of Moses], “He is the Rock, His work is perfect; for all His ways are justice, a God of truth and without injustice; righteous and upright is He.” God is always right (Psalm 19:7-10), “The law of the Lord is perfect, converting the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple; 8 the statutes of the Lord are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes; 9 the fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired are they than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.” He is right even when His wisdom doesn’t make sense to us. Our wisest thought is foolishness to God (1 Corinthians 1:25), “Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.”

3 God Is Right (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 19:7-10)
Good (Psalm 25:8-10; 52:1; Romans 2:4) God is good (Psalm 25:8-10), “Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He teaches sinners in the way. 9 The humble He guides in justice, and the humble He teaches His way. 10 All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth, to such as keep His covenant and His testimonies.” God was good in the Old Testament (Psalm 52:1), “Why do you boast in evil, O mighty man? The goodness of God endures continually.” God is good in the New Testament (Romans 2:4), “Or do you despise the riches of His goodness, forbearance, and longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” Note: The fact that tragedy happens (and evil is in the world) doesn’t mean that God is not good. We do wrong when we blame God for the evil that we do (free will)

4 God Is Right (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 19:7-10)
Good (Psalm 25:8-10; 52:1; Romans 2:4) Loving (1 John 4:8-11,16; Romans 5:8) God is loving (I John 4:8-11), “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. 9 In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.” (16), “And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.” His love is unconditional (Romans 5:8), “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” God would that we would all take advantage of his love (1 Timothy 2:1-4), “Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, 2 for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, 4 who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

5 God Is Right (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 19:7-10)
Good (Psalm 25:8-10; 52:1; Romans 2:4) Loving (1 John 4:8-11,16; Romans 5:8) Longsuffering (2 Peter 3:14-15) God is longsuffering (2 Peter 3:14-15), “Therefore, beloved, looking forward to these things, [the coming, final judgement and destruction of the world] be diligent to be found by Him in peace, without spot and blameless; 15 and consider that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation…” He has shown His longsuffering in the past (Preaching of Noah, dealings with Israel) His longsuffering will one day come to and end! Invitation: Don’t wait too long! (2 Corinthians 6:1-2), “We then, as workers together with Him also plead with you not to receive the grace of God in vain. 2 For He says: ‘In an acceptable time I have heard you, and in the day of salvation I have helped you.’ Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation.”
