KX-HTS Step by Step Guide SIP Phone Registration (Remote) September 26, 2016 Panasonic System Networks PBX SE team Specifications are subject to change without notice.

1. Overview for Demo KX-HTS supports remote connection without VPN. Office Internet WAN Built-in VM (Gmail client) Wi-Fi or 4G Panasonic KX-HTS Bria SIP Software phone with Video Ext 111 Ext 112 KX-T7765 + Panasonic Camera Ext 665 KX-NTV150 Ext 115 Panasonic L2 Switch (PoE) for example LAN Ext 113 Ext 114 KX-NTV160 Ext 116 KX-HDV230 Ext 101 KX-HDV430 Ext 102 SLT Ext 103 2

2. Table of Contents Chapter Contents 1 KX-HTS programming 2 Media5phone programming 3 Bria programming 4 KX-HDV programming 5 Remote through Existing Router Chapter 4 is tentative. KX-HDV430 has to be new firmware for KX-HTS version 1.5 in order to use this remote connection without VPN. KX-NTV cannot be installed at remote location. 3

Chapter 1 KX-HTS Programming

International and so on 10. Important Notice Do not use easy Username and SIP password such as “1234abc” to prevent from unexpected access by hacker. Do not use easy Domain name. Program enough TRS level (Toll Restriction) for SIP extension in internet. International calling should be restricted basically. TRS override by speed dial is useful to contact customers in other countries. International and so on Internet PSTN KX-HTS 5

11. Assign SIP Account for Remote. SIP has to be selected as attribution of extension port. SIP Username is assigned automatically and it can be modified manually. SIP Password is assigned manually. “Remote” has to be assigned if the extension is connected through internet. 6

12. Assign SIP Domain Name. Domain name has to be assigned. Domain name is used for SIP registration for stronger security. Character (A-Z a-z) should not be used because some SIP phone does not support character as SIP domain name. IP address format such as 123.45.67.89 is recommended. Any “IP address” can be assigned as SIP domain name, regardless of IP address of KX-HTS. 192.168.xx.xx is not recommended because 192.168.xx.xx is famous for hacker. Domain name of KX-TDE/NS PBX was IP address of PBX LAN. It was usually 192.168.0.101. This document uses “123.45.67.89” as example of SIP domain name. But “123.45.67.89” is not recommended because this document is released to internet. 7

13. Confirm SIP Port Number. 8

Chapter 2 Media5phone

21. SIP Phone : Registration 1/3 KX-HTS 192.168.0.101 : 5060 Domain : 123.45.67.89 113 : phone-013 : **** 114 : phone 014 : **** See next page. 10

22. SIP Phone : Registration 2/3 Proxy has to enabled. 123.45.67.89 5060 Enable 11.22.33.44 5060 Internet WAN 11.22.33.44 KX-HTS 192.168.0.101 : 5060 Domain : 123.45.67.89 113 : phone-013 : **** 114 : phone 014 : **** LAN 192.168.0.101 IP address in above explanation is example. 11

23. SIP Phone : Registration 3/3 Remove Router Header has to enabled. Use rport has to be enabled. 12

Chapter 3 Bria

31. Reference for Bria “Low” has to be assigned. Others are too big for KX-HTS. Video has to be enabled for KX-HTS also. 14

Chapter 4 KX-HDV

41. Connect KX-HDV to LAN of KX-HTS at first. Frequency of dial tone and so on are customized automatically for your market. KX-HDV is assigned to extension 102 for example. WAN LAN Internet WAN LAN PSTN KX-HTS KX-HDV 16

42. Remove KX-HDV from LAN of KX-HTS. If KX-HDV was registered to extension 102, change port attribution of 102 from SIP to Analog SLT to remove SIP registration. WAN LAN Internet WAN LAN PSTN KX-HTS 17

43. Connect KX-HDV at remote location. IP address of KX-HDV can be confirmed by KX-HDV. System setting => Status => IPv4 Settings IP address of KX-HDV can be programmed if network does not support DHCP. System setting => Network Settings => IPv4 Settings WAN LAN Internet WAN LAN PSTN KX-HDV 192.168.33.44 KX-HTS 18

44. Log-in to KX-HDV for Web Programming. KX-HDV has to be enabled for web access before log-in from PC. System setting => # 5 3 4 => Embedded Web On : 192.168.33.44 (for example) ID : admin Password : WAN LAN Internet WAN LAN PSTN KX-HDV 192.168.33.44 KX-HTS 19

47. KX-HDV430 “512K” has to be assigned for video bit rate. Others are too big for KX-HTS. Basic Settings => Video Options => Rate Settings => Bit rate Video has to be enabled for KX-HTS also. 22

Chapter 5 Remote through Existing Router WAN LAN Mobile Internet Internet PSTN KX-HTS Existing Router Depend on security policy of existing router, this feature may not work. In this case, VPN is recommended.

113 : phone-013 : **** 114 : phone 014 : **** 51. Point of Programming Notice and point of programming are same as chapter 1. Port Fwd is required by existing router. Internet WAN of router 11.22.33.44 123.45.67.89 5060 Enable 11.22.33.44 5060 Port Fwd WAN of KX-HTS 192.168.22.99 KX-HTS LAN : 192.168.0.101 : 5060 Domain : 123.45.67.89 113 : phone-013 : **** 114 : phone 014 : **** IP address in above explanation is example. 24

52. Assign Port Fwd to Existing Router. Range of port number (WAN) Destination 5060 (SIP) 192.168.22.99 12000-20000(UDP) SIP Carrier Internet SIP ALG has to be disabled. WAN of router 11.22.33.44:5060 Port convert is common for SIP trunk. Port number has to be same. Port Fwd <Reference : Default port of KX-HTS> WAN of KX-HTS 192.168.22.99:5060 KX-HTS LAN : 192.168.0.101 : 5060 Domain : 123.45.67.89 113 : phone-013 : **** 114 : phone 014 : **** Port convert is not required for KX-HTS. Port convert (such as 15060 to 5060) is recommended for KX-NS/NSX. 25

53. Assign NAT Traversal to KX-HTS. Internet WAN of router 11.22.33.44 Port Fwd Since this parameter is common for SIP trunk, some SIP carrier may not work by this setting. 26

54. Disable Firewall. Firewall has to be disabled. Internet WAN of router 11.22.33.44 Port Fwd WAN of KX-HTS 192.168.22.99 KX-HTS Firewall : Disable LAN : 192.168.0.101 : 5060 Domain : 123.45.67.89 27
