FAO/WHO and technical assistance The Codex Alimentarius Commission is an independent body for the development of food standards and, as such, does not provide technical assistance for participation in the work of Codex or for implementing its outputs at national level. This assistance is available through the parent organizations, FAO and WHO. Codex Training Package 2004

Linkage with Codex meetings Topics under discussion may result in capacity-building initiatives, e.g. risk analysis manual, workshops on HACCP. FAO/WHO brief member countries on capacity-building activities at Codex meetings. Codex Training Package 2004
