The Characters: Demeter - Persephone’s mother. She rules the earth. She makes the trees and flowers grow. Persephone - Demeter's beloved daughter. Hades - The king of the underworld.

The Plot One day Persephone disappeared. Hades kidnapped her. Hades and Demeter made a deal: Persephone will stay half a year with him, and half a year with her mother.

The Outcome When Persephone was with her mother, the trees and the flowers were green. It was warm and sunny. When she was with Hades, everything was dark and cold.
