AREA FORECASTS FOR LOW-LEVEL FLIGHTS Annex 3 — Meteorological Service for International Air Navigation CHAPTER 6. FORECASTS 6.5.1 When the density of traffic operating below flight level 100 (or up to flight level 150 in mountainous areas, or higher, where necessary) warrants the routine issue and dissemination of area forecasts for such operations, the frequency of issue, the form and the fixed time or period of validity of those forecasts and the criteria for amendments thereto shall be determined by the meteorological authority in consultation with the users. II SIGWX FORECASTS GIS Meteo (MapMaker Group LTD, Moscow) based on output data of global model (UKMO, NCEP), region model (MM5R, MM5K, Hydrometcenter of Russia, Losev, other local models) fixed time prognostic charts period of validity ±3 hours issued 4 times every day completed not later than 6 hours after standard time of observation

Area forecasts for low-level flights SIGWX forecast + forecasts of upper W/T at 600, 1 500 and 3 000 m as minimum and 4 500 m in mountainous areas in chart form +QNH min or GAMET or Text format 2. TAFs or TAFs AMD 3. METAR or SPECI including TREND forecasts 4. AIRMET (if available) 5. SIGMET and special air-reports low-level flight
