WHY SET GOALS?

What is something that you do now that makes you practice a 'discipline?'  Something you do again and again just to get good at it? (Football, Dance, Cooking, Gaming, Swimming etc…) Writing books and reading What Skills are involved? These two skills are connected, so when I read I see the way other people write and use the language, so I kind of learn how to write and I improve my language vocabulary.

Design

Have you worked with Design projects before Have you worked with Design projects before? (in school or out of school, created or learned at home?) Yes. I have done design whole last year. If you could become good at any skill in Design, what would it be? (graphics, photography, film, architecture, coding, model building, fashion, sustainability, food design…etc.) I would like to get better at making short animated movies.

A. Inquiring and Analyzing B. Developing Ideas C. Creating the solution D. Evaluating In Design you have 4 criteria.  Which are you best at?  Why? Criteria A, inquiring and analysing. Because I like researching so after I know much more than I knew before. Which of these SKILLs or DISCIPLINE s would you like to be better at?  I would like to get better at animation. What can you do to become better?  I can start to film easy stop motions and make drawings on the paper, so later I can try to do animated movies.

Design Goals Mood Board Create a MOOD BOARD that shows what you would like to get better at. This is what I can do now: This is what I would like to do someday What can I do For Class? I can practice making sketches on the paper, so after I can try to make drawn animation on computer using different tools. What Can I Do to Follow My Idea? This is what I can do, on my own to get better at my interest

WHAT KIND OF PLAN?

My Design Goal is: What SKILL/DISCIPLINE do you want to improve? Creating short animated movies. Which Criteria fits? Criteria B: Developing Ideas What grade do I have now? 6/7 Where will you show development? (Process Journal, Blog, Projects, tasks, organization, exhibition, performance?) My movies will be on my phone and computer. I can upload it to my blog. My sketches will be in my process journal. How can I practice and do the work? I will try to sketch main movements of the characters. I can film stop motions and get better in it. How will this help me improve my work? I will get better at drawing, consequently it is going to be much easier for me to draw on the computer. What grade do I want to get? 6/7 Where can I use this in other subjects? Personal projects, art. When do I expect to check my progress? By December I will: We will have 3 month long unit about stop motion movies. By March I will: Continue our project. This year I want to set the goal to: Improving my grades in Criteria B to 7 becoming better at Developing Ideas by creating unique animated movies.

Art

What arts topics and subjects have you worked with in the past? Did you take classes, train, learn yourself?  (Music, dance, drama and visual art, photography, film, graphics, fashion, illustration, jewellery, ceramics....etc.) I have done a lot. Drawing, writing, jewellery, ceramics. As long as I can remember, I always liked art. Sometimes we did in school and always at home. When I was 7 I took drawing classes for 2 month, but then I quit, because I didn’t like that they were telling me what to draw. If you could become good at the arts, what would it be?  I would like to paint. I think it is a really easy and beautiful way to express emotions.

In the ARTS you have 4 criteria. Which are you best at? Why? A. Knowledge and Understanding B. Developing Skills C. Creative Thinking D. Responding. In the ARTS you have 4 criteria. Which are you best at?  Why? I think I am better at creative thinking. I got a lot of ideas spontaneously. Which of these criteria would you like to be better at?  (this could be media specific...''I want to learn to use...'') I would like to be better at criteria B. I really want to improve my drawing skills. What will you do to become better?  I need to start drawing much more. I draw a lot, but to become better I need to be drawing even more. I need to practice.

Arts Goals Mood Board This is what I can do now: Create a MOOD BOARD that shows what you would like to get better at. This is what I can do now: This is what I would like to do someday: Learn how to shade hair and body What Can I Do to Follow My Idea? This is what I can do, on my own to get better at my interest. I can just draw in my free time, therefore I enjoy it. What can I do For Class? I can start doing my sketches more detailed for our projects.

WHAT KIND OF PLAN?

My Arts Goal is: What SKILL/DISCIPLINE do you want to improve? Drawing skills. I want to learn how to shade drawings with people using simple pencil. Which Criteria fits? Criterion B, developing skills. Where will you show the development? (Process Journal, Blog, Projects, tasks, organization, exhibition, performance?) Process journal, just any paper. How can I practice and do the work? In my free time I can draw (if I am in the mood to draw). How will this help me improve my work? I will get better at drawing by practicing and my grade will go up and I will spend less time on my homework doing sketches. Where can I use this skill or discipline in other subjects? Personal Projects When do I expect to check my progress? By December I will: In art we need to draw in out every unit. We make sketches and do actual drawings. I am going to have different projects in school where I can draw, so there I can see if I have any progress. This year I want to set the goal to: Improving my grades in criteria A to 7 by becoming looking at more painting and techniques and understanding what the artist wanted to show.
