Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs

Maslow and Motivation Maslow asked specific questions of Human Motivation. How do we decide which need to fulfill first? Do our motivations have any order of importance?

The Theory Maslow studied individuals who lived fulfilling lives. People like Mahatma Ghandi, and Mother Theresa. Maslow developed a theory ranking needs, beginning with physiological importance and ending with self-actualization (self-fulfillment).

Self-actualization Maslow describes self-actualization as a person's need to be and do that which the person was "born to do." "A musician must make music, an artist must paint, and a poet must write."
