Find the dimensions of the following rectangle. x 1) 2) The perimeter is 24. The length is 2 more than its width. Find the dimensions. P = 36 2x 2x + 2x + x + x = 36 x 6x = 36 x + 2 x + x + x + 2 + x + 2 = 24 x = 6 4x + 4 = 24 The dimensions are 6 and 12. 4x = 20 x = 5 The dimensions are 7 and 5.

2.04 Finding Perimeter using a Ruler

A ruler is a device used to measure lengths. Centimeters Inches Rulers are usually dual calibrated. Inches on one side. Centimeters on the other side.

We can use a ruler to find the perimeter of a figure by measuring each side and adding their measures together. 10 cm 5.4 cm 10 cm + 10 cm + 5.4 cm + 5.4 cm = 30.8 cm

Find the perimeter. 9.4 cm + 6.5 cm + 5.5 cm + 6.5 cm = 21.4 cm 6.5 cm
