National 5 physics course 3 units assessed by an exam paper – 80%: Waves and Radiation; Dynamics and Space; and Electricity and Energy. Added value unit (assignment) – 20%.
What materials does my child need to study physics? Scientific calculator, ruler and protractor. Class notes jotter. Homework sheets/booklets. SQA past papers/practice papers. A jotter or notepad specifically for revision. Internet access for website and Glow pages.

Supported study Every Monday from 3.35 pm until 4.35 pm.

What can I do to help my child study physics? Log onto the Glow page to browse the revision materials available. Help to source SQA past papers/practice papers. Encourage pupils to attend supported study and to ask for help when required. Reinforce the message that the more work a student puts in, the more success will be achieved. We recommend that, in preparation for prelim. and final examinations pupils spend 2 hours per week studying physics.
