Complete the lunch forms! What is Title I? It’s a federally funded program. It provides funds for an additional reading specialist and/or aide. Funds are available to purchase additional resources like books, supplemental reading materials, and educational games. Complete the lunch forms!

Free & Reduced Lunch Forms A school qualifies for Title I services if its percentage of students who qualify for free or reduced lunches meets or exceeds the district’s average. 47% 40% SO PLEASE COMPLETE THE FREE AND REDUCED MEALS APPLICATION! Guilford Hills District average

Who works with Mrs. Urso? Kindergarten-5th grade students are selected to be in the Title I program. Small group intervention Writing conferences Children are selected for groups based on needs, assessment results, and teacher recommendations.

This program is designed to assist your child by teaching specific skills necessary for success in reading. There are a variety of research-based intervention programs that may be used with your child. ____________________ is being used with your child. Should you have any questions about the progress report or the intervention program, please contact Mrs. Urso at 352-2124. What do the students do in Title I? Read and write!!! Play educational reading and phonemic awareness games Letter & letter sound identification Test prep skills to build comprehension

What can you do at home? Send your child to school each day. Read and talk with your child everyday. Empty take-home folders every night. Help with and check your child’s homework. Communicate with your child’s teachers.
