Alton Community Centre Project Rotary Club of Alton

Project Aims To provide support to: Two Youth Projects The Older Persons Group at Alton Community Centre

Youth Group Support First group developed from joint Police/ACC/Youth Service project aimed at worker with young people at risk of being given an A.S.B.O. Project targeted at enabling group to continue and to improve facilities for the young people attending Support NEETS to enable continuity

Youth “Jamming Group” Supporting the development of this group whose members are on the Autistic Spectrum Funding provides equipment and funding to improve skill base and more secure equipment storage Project offers continuity and encourages funding partners from other sources

Older Person Group Support vulnerable older people Enable those with early stages of Dementia support to stay in own home Improved physical and mental wellbeing Funding needed to improve access to group and break down barriers to access Provide resource materials for long term use of the Group after funding ends

Rotarian Involvement Completed the decoration of the ACC Club Room Hosting a Christmas Party for older persons group Lead at least one other social activity for the older persons group Source and make “Memory Boxes” for use in the Group, especially for those with Dementia

Involvement cont’ Provide team to meet the challenge of a Pool match against Members of the Youth Group Provide Rotarians, when needed, to assist with activities of NEETs programme Provide and attend external activities with the young people attending the Youth Club

By June 2015 We hope to have enabled the Youth Projects to attract funding from other sources to enable it to be delivered permanently Encourage other partners to support vulnerable adults by funding places at the club Provide a lasting resource in form of Memory Boxes for use in the future
