2017-2018 Welcome to Our Title I Annual Parent Meeting Callaway Elementary September 28th, 2017

What is Title I? Title I, Part A is a federal program (Elementary and Secondary Education Act) that provides federal funds to assist school districts and schools with high percentages of children from low-income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic standards.

Callaway Elementary is a Title I school and received $364,064 for the 17-18 school year.

How did we decide to use these funds How did we decide to use these funds? We developed a Title I School-wide Program Plan.

We analyzed our latest academic, discipline, and attendance data. We determined the areas of greatest need. We looked for barriers that prevented our students from making the achievement they needed. We developed the following strategies:

Strategy #1 Provide wraparound services to address the needs of the students by tracking attendance and behavior. Expenditures: School Social Worker Parent Liaison Professional Development for Parent Liaison

Strategy #2 Provide opportunities for all students to meet the standards by delivering instruction in small groups, using supplemental instructional materials to enhance instruction, implementing job embedded professional development, and attending summer planning Expenditures: Paraprofessionals Instructional materials and supplies Math Coach Stipends for summer planning

Our School-wide Program Goals The number of chronically absent students from 2016/17 will decrease by 10%. The number of students missing instructional time due to misbehavior  from 2016/17 will decrease by 10%. The number of students proficient in Reading will increase by 10%. The number of students proficient in Math will increase by 10%.

You can help us reach these goals!

Research has proven that parent involvement has more impact on student achievement than any other factor!
