Where is the Equator? The equator is the imaginary line around the center of the Earth.

Where is the Prime Meridian? The Prime Meridian is perpendicular to the equator. It helps to decide east and west longitude lines.

Latitude Latitude lines go horizontal across the Earth. 0 degrees is the equator, above is North, and below is South.

Longitude Longitude lines are vertical on the Earth. 0 degrees is the Prime Meridian, to the right is East, and to the left is West.
