CZECH REPUBLIC 1st foreign language compulsory since 3rd class (8ys old ss) mostly ENGLISH 2nd foreign language is taught since 8th class (13years old ss)=not compulsory German /French/Russian

IN OUR SCHOOL 1ST FOREIGN LANGUAGE = ENGLISH Students start learning English in the 1st class (=6yrs old) Most of pupils have some experience from kindergarden 2ND FOREIGN LANGUAGE = GERMAN Students start learning German in the 8th class(=13yrs old)

IN OUR SCHOOL NUMBER OF ENGLISH LESSONS per week 1.+2.class – 2 lessons 3.,4.,5.class– 3 lessons 6. – 9. class – 3 lessons

CLIL IN OUR SCHOOL All students have 1 extra lesson of CLIL per week CLIL lessons are taught by a native speaker We have been practising it for 3 years

ENGLISH LESSONS in 1. and 2. class shape of oral course Be active - pupils want to be absolutely involved Feel secure,having fun = POSITIVE ATTITUDE WHAT HELP US ? TPR Activities - using whole body to learn SONGS, CHANTS,GAMES, STORIES, ARTS and CRAFTS - movement, music, rhythm, creativity, drama… Using-hand puppet, mascots, pitures, real objects

ENGLISH LESSONS 3.-9.class Productive and receptive skills = B1(not tested) Using the English in real: Writing emails, epizodes of series, songs Online activities: www.agendaweb.org (games, worksheets,songs,…)

Evaluation At the moment 1.-3class – verbal evaluation – formative 4.-9.class-marks 1-5(1 is the best)

WE FOUND ENGLISH VERY IMPORTANTE FOR ENGLISH INTEGRATION WE ARE HAPPY TO HAVE ERASMUS+ Students have oportunity to use E in real Students have oportunity to learn about other countries in Europe Students have oportunity to travel ERASMUS+ = A REAL EXPERIENCE
