Shared Governance at Colorado State University: Administrative Professional Council Classified Personnel Council Faculty Council

What is Shared Governance? A system designed to give a voice to employees and engage the entire University community through direct and representative participation in planning and decision making processes. This system ensures all members of the University community have a seat at the table.

There are three (3) bodies that act as the vehicle through which Colorado State University employees participate in shared governance: Administrative Professional Council (APC) Classified Personnel Council (CPC) Faculty Council (FC)

Classified Personnel Council Mission Statement The Classified Personnel Council exists to represent state classified employees at Colorado State University and to serve as the liaison between employees and the University as a whole. Issues that affect the role, image and status of state classified employees may be considered by the Council. The Council is also charged to recommend to the President, through his designee, proposals designed to define, promote, improve and protect the role of state classified employees at Colorado State University. www.cpc.colostate.edu

Faculty Council Established 1915

The Faculty Council establishes policies which result in: Curricula suited to the needs of the state as well as to regional, national, and international concerns. The best possible teaching, research, and extension/outreach activities. Conditions in which both faculty members and students can learn and develop according to their individual interests and aptitudes.
