The David by Michelangelo Vincent Sweet February 2nd 2010

The David

History behind “The David” “The David” is a statue representing the Biblical figure David, the one who slew the Giant Goliath with a slingshot. Michelangelo depicted David differently than other artists, other artists such as Verrocchio and Donatello depicted him after the battle with Goliath standing on top of his head while Michelangelo sculpted him before the battle.

Why Potok?! Why?! I believe Potok put this piece of art in the story because Jacob Khan is a sculptor, and this would be an example of his type of work. Other than that it is a beautiful piece of work, revered by many.
