Introducing the BTEC Tech Award in PERFORMING ARTS With a BTEC Tech Award in Performing Arts, you are able to explore, challenge and realise your potential. The skills to succeed – the confidence to progress!

Why should I choose btec performing arts? The BTEC Tech Award in Performing Arts is a practical course. It focuses on developing the core skills and techniques required for success as a performer in the industry. You will get the chance to participate in workshops with real theatre/dance companies. You will get to perform in front of live audiences. There is NO WRITTEN EXAM!!

What does it prepare me for in the future? The skills that are learnt by studying performing arts are invaluable in later life. For example, being able to speak and present confidently in front of people, and the skill of planning that is required in any production, are useful in many careers. Performing Arts can be a good basis for a career not only in the theatre, but in advertising, the film industry and even in events planning, among many others. Studying Performing Arts also promotes fitness, a healthy lifestyle, team working and creativity. Studying Performing Arts enables you to increase your confidence and self-esteem, to employ the skills of problem solving, to improve your creativity and to make knowledgeable decisions.

Component 1 – Exploring the Performing Arts: What Will I be doing on the course? Component 1 – Exploring the Performing Arts: This component will help you to understand the requirements of being an actor, dancer or musical theatre performer across a range of performances and disciplines.
