Level 3 Diploma in Performing and Production Arts Just Dance - Project Brief Unit 1&3 Project aim - During this project you will explore progression opportunities for dancers and the training that this requires. You will also take on the role and responsibilities of being a dancer. You will take part in contemporary technique classes, fitness sessions that show you how to work on your muscular strength and endurance, and flexibility workshops, all of which will focus on safe practice. You will take part in choreographic workshops and this will result in a short group dance that will be performed at the Oxjam event on Tuesday 17th October. 1. Principles of Performance and Introduction to Professional Practice Evidence and Deadlines Context and Research Unit Locate, access and use information to support own development. Unit Describe and use a range of appropriate measures for ensuring the health of the performer and safety of the production. Outline of a possible 10 dance jobs. Highlight and explain the training requirements for 3 of them. Highlight the health and safety requirements for a dancer and the consequences of not adhering to them. Describe a warm up and cool down plan for before and after dance workshops. Upload your flexibility chart. Say what area you need to work on and how you intend to make this happen. (class handout) Upload a video of you doing a basic warm up and stretch for a dance class Give at least 3 example of correct and incorrect alignment in basic dance movement. This will use photos of you or a peer with feedback annotated on them. Evaluate success of flexibility program with annotated photos. Participate fully in dance technique classes and flexibility workshops. Work together as a company to rehearse and polish an original dance piece for Oxjam.
