Bacteria DNA Bacterial DNA is shaped like a circle and called a plasmid

Transforming Bacteria The plasmid diffuses out of the cell when it expands The DNA is cut open by Restriction Enzymes A new piece of DNA is added to the plasmid (recombinant DNA) The plasmid diffuses back into the bacteria

Transforming Bacteria Transformed Bacteria can make medicines like: Human Growth Hormone (Performance enhancing drug) Insulin (Diabetes) Transgenic bacteria has DNA from itself and another organism (humans)
