Ques 2. What is the Exam Pattern of IIT JAM 2017? Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) Each MCQ type question has four choices out of which only one choice is the correct answer. There will be 30 questions in the Test which will be based on MCQ. Which will carry one or two marks each. 2. Multiple Select Questions (MSQ) Each MSQ type question is similar to MCQ but with a difference that there may be one or more than one choice(s) that are correct out of the four given choices. There will be 10 questions in the Test which will be based on MSQ. Which will carry 2 marks for each.

Numerical Answer Type (NAT) Questions For each NAT type question, the answer is a signed real number which needs to be entered using the virtual keypad on the monitor. Ques 3. Is there any Negative Marking System in IIT JAM? Yes, there is Negative Marking System in IIT JAM. But the questions you don’t attempt in the exam, will mark zero. The Negative Cutoff Marks are described here section wise- 1. Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) Section: Your wrong answer will result Negative marks. For all 1 mark questions, 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. For 2/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer.   2.
