2 Qualifying UGC NET is an arduous task as the difficulty level of the exam is very high. The exam paper is designed in such a way that it filters out brilliant and best students for the prestigious post of lecturer and to perform research programs. 3  Exam Name: UGC NET 2018 ( NATIONAL ELIGIBILITY TEST)Conducted by: CBSE (Role of CBSE is only upto the conduct of NET Examination and declaration of result)  E-certificates of Qualified Candidates issued by: UGC-NET Bureau  UGC NET 2018 July will be conducted by CBSE on 08th July, 2018  UGC-NET Notification available from 1st February 2018 and online application form submission starts from 5th March, 2018

5  UGC conducts NET twice a Vear,in the months of June and January. The notifications announcing the June and December examinations are published in the months of February/March and August/September respectively in the weekly journal of nation-wide circulation, via, Employment News.  Scholarship:  The scholarship of the JRF (NET) fellowship, at present, is 25,000/- per month. The fellowship will be governed by terms and conditions of CSIR, UGC or Research Scheme, as applicable. The number of fellowships for each subject is limited. SC/ST applicants will be given such special considerations as may be decided by the Co-ordination Committee as per policy guidelines. The duration of fellowship will be initially for 2 years carrying a monthly stipend of 25,000/-. On completion of two years as JRF (NET), the stipend of a fellow may be increased to 28,000/-p.m. for the 3rd year on the basis of assessment of candidate's research progress through interview by the prescribed Expert Committee and Ph.D. registration. Upon such a recommendation, the fellow will be called SRF (NET). The total tenure as JRF (NET) plus SRF (NET) shall not exceed 5 years.

7  Step I: Minimum marks to be obtained in NET for considering a candidate for the award of JRF and eligibility for lectureship.  Step II: Amongst those candidates who have cleared step I, a merit list will be prepared subject-wise and category-wise using the aggregate marks of all the three papers secured by such candidates.  Step III: Top 15% candidates (for each subject and category), from the merit list mentioned under step II, will be declared NET qualified for eligibility for lectureship only.  Step IV: A separate merit list for the award of JRF will be prepared from amongst the NET qualified candidates figuring in the merit list prepared under step III. It may be noted that the above qualifying criteria decided by UGC is final and binding.

8  The result of June, UGC-NET is declared generally in the month of September. Similarly December, UGC-NET result is usually declared in the month of March. 9  The University Grant Commission UGC conducts Nationality Eligibility Test(NET) to determine eligibility for lectureship and for award of Junior research fellow (JRF) for Indian nationals in order to ensure minimum standards for venturing into teaching profession and research. This Test is conducted in Humanities (including all languages), Social Sciences, Forensic Science, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science and Applications and Electronic Science. This test is conducted twice a year in the months of June and January

12  For JRF (NET): Maximum 28 years. Upper age limit may be relaxed up to 5 years in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC, Physically handicapped/Visually handicapped and female applicants. For Lectureship (NET): No upper age limit.

13  BS-4 years program / B.E./ B.Tech / B.Pharma / MBBS / Integrated BS-MS / M.Sc./ MCA / M.Tech or Equivalent degree with at least 55% marks for General & OBC candidates 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually handicapped candidates.

14  Candidates enrolled for M.Sc. or having completed 10+2+3 years of the above qualifying examination are also eligible to apply in the above subject under the Result Awaited (RA) category on the condition, that they complete the qualifying degree with required percentage (55%) of marks within the validity period of two years. Such candidates will have to submit the attestation format duly certified by the Head of the Department/Institute from where the candidate is appearing or has appeared. B.Sc. (Hons) or equivalent degree holders or students enrolled in integrated MS-Ph.D. program with atleast 55% marks for General and OBC candidates; 50% for SC/ST candidates, Physically and Visually handicapped candidates are also eligible to apply. Candidates with bachelor's degree, whether Science, engineering will be eligible for fellowship only after getting enrolled for Ph.D./integrated Ph.D. program within the validity period of two years.
