How to Succeed in Science

Curriculum

Curriculum Changes All GCSE Science is now linear Controlled assessments are no longer in part of the examination content . Science practical work will be assessed through the examination. Science will be taught over 6 lessons and will be worth two GCSE’s New grading system of 9-1.

Why does GCSE Science matter? Doorway to further study post-16 GCSE Science a desirable subject for a A-level courses, Universities and some apprenticeships Is essential for certain career pathways. A Grade 6 or above required in Science to study Sciences at Post 16.

Subject Specific Information Science (6 lessons per week) Double Award Science is the study of Biology, Chemistry and Physics towards two GCSEs. Exams will take place at the end of Yr. 11 Grade 6 in Double Award is required to study A levels in Science. All of our pupils in Year 9 and 10 follow this course.
