1 First Year Students What’s up with that???
A Presentation by KD Maynard for Franklin Pierce University 5/17/17

2 Time Travel . . . close your eyes, and think about
What, in your first year out of high school (whether you were in college or not) absolutely CONSUMED your energy and attention?

3 Beloit College Annual Mindset list
Class of Slideshow

4 Your observations . . . What do you see incoming Franklin Pierce first year students doing exceptionally well? What surprises you, that you think first year students should know/do, but they don’t? If you could cultivate three skills or habits in each first year student, what would they be? If you could eradicate or reframe three behaviors or assumptions of first year students, what would they be?

5 Discuss, and then we’ll report out
