2 Yr 7 Curriculum Map – Activate 1
Working Scientifically (KS2 assessment and setting process) Biology (B1) Chemistry (C1) Physics P1 Cells Body Systems Reproduction Particles Elements and Compounds Reactions Acids and Alkalis Forces Sound Light Space Assessment is carried out by a series of in class, content based tests, leading to an end of year examination

3 Yr 8 Curriculum Map – Activate 2
Building on ideas learned in year 7 Biology (B2) Chemistry (C2) Physics (P2) Health and Lifestyle Ecosystems and processes Adaptation and inheritance The periodic table Separation techniques Metals and acids The Earth Electricity and magnetism Energy Motion and pressure Assessment is carried out by a series of in class, content based tests, leading to an end of year examination

4 Yr 9 Curriculum Map – Activate 1&2
Building on ideas learned in year 7 and 8 Biology (B1 / B2) Chemistry (C1 / C2) Physics (P1 / P2) Assessment is by 2 tests for each unit, with a higher level of challenge than in year 7 and 8 Bridging Scheme of Learning – preparing for Key Stage 4

5 New Curriculum – New course
Advantages: Activities which will support learning through extended literacy, numeracy & practical investigation Standardised assessments to demonstrate the progress made by students Learning objectives which can be linked to the School assessment policy for consistent reporting to parents 2 year course which can then be consolidated and extended in year 9 to prepare students for GCSE Science

Extends learning beyond the classroom Is relevant and current Is set every week Is marked and stuck into the back of books Is referred to in lessons Helps students to make progress because they can recall what is being studied between lessons Is rewarded in line with School policy Science homework should be… Presented neatly on A4 paper Appropriately titled, labelled and named Submitted on time Have taken approximately 30 minutes to complete Completed to the best of the ability of the student
