A Renewed Identity The purpose of the Congregation is to give glory to God and strive to have Christ reign in the lives of its members, in the hearts of people and in society. -Constitutions of the Legion of Christ, n. 2 Set the world abaze: I’m convinced the the Lord has a very special plan for the Legion and the Movement. To bring the fire Christ’s love to as many souls as possible. NA territory: that we can be a source of best practices Religious…we support our brother religious by being faithful. The rising tide floats all ships.

With men this is impossible but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26

What’s New II 2 Council Members Monthly phone calls Regular visits Ongoing training for superiors Internship course Mentors Newly Ordained SD 1-5 years Prime Time Emotions and Psychological Challenges Christmas Course

Vibrant Legionary Communities 1 Vibrant Legionary Communities Healthy and constructive communication Religious Life as Legionaries Harmonize Apostolate and Community Life Community program Build vibrant Legionary communities Story: Communities are settling in as we enter our third year. I see a good test, when new members arrive and how they sense community life,. Dallas , Fr. Edward Bentley: community life is excellent. VISION: - Each community will demonstrate healthy and constructive communication in both community and one-on-one settings. - Deeper and more unified living of Legionary religious life. - Each community has a program that they live out. - Each superior demonstrates leadership taking responsibility for the vibrancy of his community (gives direction, takes ownership, resolves issues, and encourages members).

Strengthen the Living Out of the Legionary Mission in the Movement 2 Strengthen the Living Out of the Legionary Mission in the Movement Priority given to RC activities CLC n. 4: Intentionality “in their mission of forming apostles at the service of the Church” Greater community unity in mission Affective Maturity Why did we come to the conclusion that we needed to adapt this? Survey shows that the weakest area in most localities is the unity in the mission. Deepen our understanding of and identification with the Legionary mission VISION: - The Legionaries have clear the concept of the Legionary mission and use key terminology the same way (e.g. building the Kingdom, forming apostles, etc.) - Legionaries can confidently explain what it means to be a Legionary priest and Regnum Christi apostle. - See growth in intentionality in living out CLC 4 (e.g. LCs go to dinner not just for the sake of friendship but to bring people to greater commitment to their life mission). - See greater community unity in mission - Legionaries give priority to Regnum Christi activities over other good things that are not specific to our mission.

Inspire young men to follow Christ in the Legion 3 Inspire young men to follow Christ in the Legion Inspired by our testimony of life Transmitting our RC/ECYD charism RC members see praying for vocations as a priority 6-7 national vocation directors National campaign to pray and sacrifice for vocations New LC website and social media vehicles Inspire young men to give their lives to Christ in the Legion VISION: Legionaries are praying and sacrificing for vocations personally and in community. RC members see praying for vocations to consecrated life as a priority. The Legionary website is a place where someone can discover his vocation. That vocation and youth directors are confidently transmitting our RC/ECYD charism and inspiring young men to commit to Christ. - A complete team of 6-7 national vocation directors.

Personal responsibility for financial health 4 Personal responsibility for financial health Achieve that each Legionary takes personal responsibility for the financial health of his community and the territory Living within our means Example of Atlanta Gala – All the LCs and CRCs Achieve that each Legionary takes personal responsibility for the financial health of his community and the territory   MEANS: Educate our members so that fundraising is seen as an integral part of our apostolate, not dirty work. Give an annual report to the territory at Christmas Ensure superiors are reviewing their budgets with their members on a quarterly basis Foster effective collaboration between local and territorial fundraising efforts.

Further communion: stronger ecclesial relationships 5 Further communion: stronger ecclesial relationships CLC 5: In their apostolic activities, Legionaries should participate in the local Church’s pastoral plan. Appropriate communication with local Ordinary CMSM national board. Further communion by developing stronger relationships with the ecclesial hierarchy and religious major superiors VISION: - That 50% of the bishops where we have LC communities are confident enough to recommend the LC and RC to other bishops. - That the CMSM national board has a positive experience and attitude towards the Legion and RC. That there is appropriate communication with local Ordinary where we have communities. Visit during Canonical Visits Invite Bishops and priests to participate in our activities
