11 Lay Ministers: Called to Collaborate
Collaboration: working together with others toward a common goal. Some qualities or attitudes needed: Attitude of service Attitude of openness Ability to put needs of the group or activity above personal needs Abilty to work in harmony with others Ability to listen to others Ability to work through conflict

12 Lay Ministers: Called to Collaborate
Lay Ministers collaborate with the pastor/priest other parish leaders others in their same ministry other ministries and members of organizations

13 Lay Ministers Called to be persons of prayer
“therefore all in the Church, whether they belong to the hierarchy or are cared for by it, are called to holiness.” Dogmatic Constitution on the Church, #39 Reflection How do you like to pray? How has prayer supported you in carrying out your ministry?

18 Closing Prayer We bless you Lord for our calling,
for nurturing in each of us a disciple’s heart, a heart that rejoices at your coming, a heart sustained by your Spirit, a heart encouraged by fellow disciples. May there grow in each of our hearts the disciple’s commitment to serve, the disciple’s willingness to learn, and the disciple’s joy in becoming an instrument of your grace. Amen
