About IBSA Innovation & Business Skills Australia Operated as an Industry Skills Council for BSB, TAE, FNS and ICT Training Packages, among others Developed and sold high quality learning resources for some of these packages, predominantly BSB and TAE Recently awarded an SSO contract for the Manufacturing Industry.

IBSA Academy How it typically works… Approximately 1 hour duration Accessed through the IBSA LMS portal or placed on an RTO’s intranet/portal via an embedded link Courses can be stopped and re-started at any time Can be completed at a time convenient for the Individual and the RTO.

Why use it? ASQA Standards Clause 1.13 states that “Training and assessment is delivered only by persons who have … current knowledge and skills in vocational training and learning that informs their training and assessment”. Clause 1.16 states ““the RTO must ensure that all trainers and assessors undertake professional development in the fields of the knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment including competency based training and assessment”. The clause then goes further on to declare that as a matter of compliance “RTOs must retain evidence that all trainers and assessors have undertaken relevant professional development in VET”.

Why use it? Continued… Skills First Contract Obligations 2017 VET Funding Contract states (Restricted and Standard), Training Providers must comply with the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (2015) The Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) defines Professional Development as activities that develop and/or maintain an individual’s skills, knowledge, expertise and other characteristics as a trainer or assessor. This includes both formal and informal activities that encompass vocational competencies, currency of industry skills and knowledge and practice of vocational training, learning and assessment, including competency based training and assessment.
