You’ve made it! The final Speech

What will you learn today? What constitutes a Final Speech? What is different in your Final Speech’? Your next and final project!

You will choose any type of speech format we covered this semester- FINAL Speech Criteria You will choose any type of speech format we covered this semester- How-To, Informative, or Persuasive. 3-5 minutes long presentation Must include technology and a video that does not exceed 1 minute

What else must you do? Must have at least 5 handouts, unless it is edible then bring enough for class May only take a maximum of 2 questions Must dress Business Professional

Remember, you are teaching the audience... How-to Speech Remember, you are teaching the audience... How To Make ... How To Fix ... How To Use ... How To Do ... How Something Works ... How Something Is Done, Produced or Made

Informative Speech The purpose of the informative speech is to provide interesting, useful, and unique information to your audience.

Persuasive Speech The purpose of the persuasive speech is to persuade your audience to take action or change his/her belief(s).

Introduction The Introduction sets the tone of the entire speech. There are 6 parts of the Introduction: Attention Getter: Greeting: Purpose Statement: Credibility Statement: Preview….. Transition to the Body

Body of How-To SPEECH The body paragraphs explain your three main points: How-to Speech: Ingredients Process of combination and cooking or baking process Clean up, explain decoration and completion process

BODY OF INFORMATIVE SPEECH Each body paragraph explains a different part of your who or what you are informing the audience about. Make sure you use sufficient details and visuals!

Body OF A Persuasive Speech 3 main points Establish a need Satisfy that need Visualize their future with the change The purpose of this speech is to persuade your audience to buy a creative, new, interesting, useful, and unique product.

Conclusion Signal Closing Review main points Questions? Transition, discuss handouts… Memorable statement or call to action Thank the audience for listening!

Outline and Paper worth one Summative Grade Those who are not exempt must complete a written portion for the remaining 20% of their Final.

Brain storming and Research This is the most important step Write your thoughts out Research new ideas Don’t rely on internet or “what will be easiest” but instead push yourself to find a passion to talk about!

Take a few minutes to quietly brainstorm On a sheet of paper write down some speech topics. Make sure you are interested in these topics and have not previously don’t a project over them.

Now talk it out with a neighbor! Is this something your audience would be interested in? Do they have any ideas to make your topic better?

ALL OF THIS IS ON MY MOODLE PAGE!!! Remember! You must turn in your Outline and Paper on the day you present. You must have 5 handouts, if it is edible then enough for the entire class or none at all. Presentation must be 3-5 minutes long You must incorporate technology, not longer than 1 minute You must dress for success! Wear your best business professional. You may only take a maximum of 2 questions. Save and send your project multiple ways. Do not procrastinate and be sure to PRACTICE and review the Rubric.
