You should have received an email with a certificate for a free admission to COSI this week! This is part of the COSI on Wheels program that visited our school during Catholic Schools Week. If you did not get this email, please update your info on School Speak and let me know! We MUSTACHE ask you to say no to drugs!! On Monday, October 31st we will kick off Red Ribbon Week. It will be a red day! Students need to wear their school uniform but may accessorize in RED! Ideas- red socks, red jewelry, red nails, red hats, red scarves..... Just no face or hair paint. Our Jane Yolen study is coming along great. Thanks for sending in your child’s picture. We will be putting the finishing touches on our Favorite Reading spot early next week and displaying our work in the hall. We made predictions on 3 of her Dinosaur Books: How Dinosaurs eat their food? How Dinosaurs Get Well Soon? How Dinosaurs Go to School? We had a lot of fun making predictions and reading the stories to find out if their predictions came true! First Grade Parent Meeting: We would like to meet with you to discuss “All Things 1st Grade”! Some of the topics are the websites for Go Math, Reading A-Z and XtraMath. Other topics will include Saxon, Daily 5 and anything else pertaining to first grade. Halloween info: Children may wear their Halloween costumes to school on Friday October 28. We will have a costume parade in the gym around 8:15 in the morning. All parents are welcome to attend the parade. Our class Halloween party will be after lunch. Only pre-scheduled and approved volunteers may attend the class party. Please keep in mind that children will have to wear their Halloween costumes all day at school! They will have to be able to use the restroom on their own and make it through recess while wearing their costume. Plan accordingly! With all the “scary clown” reports in the news, we have decided there will be NO clown or gory costumes this year.
