Homework Change their reading books when they need to and library books at lunch time. Spellings set Tuesday and tested the following Monday. Mental maths target Maths, English or creative homework set on Wednesday and in Monday. Reading for 10 minutes every day.

Please read the following information to help you understand how homework will be organised this year. Spellings will be given every week. We would encourage children not just to learn the spelling but to know the definition of the word and be able to use it within a sentence (either orally or written). Times tables – revise x2, x5, x10, x3, x4, x8, x6. This will depend on specific class targets and the child as an individual. For example, learn the four times table along with division facts. Every week your child will either have a more structured piece of homework linked to their maths or English learning in class or a more creative piece aimed at developing your child’s independent thinking skills. It is important that your child hands in their homework on time with their reading records ready for signing.
