CONFIGURING The GEM-K1CA STEP 1: Move Jumper JP5 {located on the upper-right corner of the board} From pins 1-2 {Top} to 3-4 {Button} and wait approx. 45 Sec. Display will read XX OUT OF SYSTEM STEP 2: Enter code 11123 than press MENU once and proceed as Follows {repeating the following procedure for each keypad}

EZM Address 01 Enter EZM number 01- 06 using direct entry than press ENTER to save Press MENU Zone Response 00 displays The internal EZM in a GEM-K1CA can provide four additional zones EZM must be assigned unique address from 1 - 22 Note: GEM-K2S and GEM-K3DGTL DO NOT HAVE an EZM built in.

Zn Response 00 The normal loop response time of keypad EZM zones is 750ms. response can be reduced to 50ms as follows: Zn Response 00 1. zone 1 = 1 zone 2 = 2 zone 3 = 4 zone 4 = 8 2. Example: change zones 2,3&4 to 50mS response 3. zone 1 = 1 zone 2 = 2 zone 3 = 4 zone 4 = 8 total =15 Enter 15 into keypad using direct entry than press ENTER to save Press RESET to exit Config. Mode, display will read “01 OUT OF SYSTEM” Then replace jumper J5 across pins 1-2 {top two pins}

There are three types of address displays when Direct Address Program Mode Modifications through Direct Entry Programming allow you to Manually customize your Control Panel Options Panels will display Address Locations 0000 – 1198 Enter desired programmed data and Don`t forget to SAVE the data before moving onto next location There are three types of address displays when programming in the Direct Entry Program Mode (Binary, Decimal, Hexidecimal)

Data is entered directly, by pressing keys 1-9, [*] [0] for zero and [*] [1] through [*][5] for Hex B through F 0000 - - H Example: Chime Timeout set at 2 seconds - 0716 0 8 H

User Program Mode Only Keypad #1 may be used for programming, however it may be assigned to any area Program mode cannot be accessed while communicator is transmitting, except during first three minutes after power-up After entering a code or zone description, press ENTER to save before moving to next code or zone description Keypad in program mode for more than 4 minutes with no activity will activate steady sounder {press any key to silence or press Reset to exit

Accessing User Program Mode Enter a user code having the program option enabled Press MENU button once, than press BYPASS key three times “ACTIVATE PROGRAM” will display in keypad Press YES or ENTER User codes entered the same as in dealer program however in this mode “only the code is programmable” Authority level and Access-Control bytes can only be programmed in dealer program mode
