Situation Overview NWSMobile weather.gov/mob New Information: Heavy rain event is beginning to materialize. Flash Flood Watch in effect for southern portions of the area through Friday. Additional Rainfall: 4-8” with locally up to 10-12” in the watch area. What/Where/When: Heavy rain threat becoming focused along the AL/NW FL coast & SE MS and persisting through Friday. The greatest coverage will gradually shift west and focus on SE MS/coastal AL. Locally heavy rainfall with scattered to numerous storms further inland through Friday. Isolated flash flooding possible. A return to more typical summer storm pattern by this weekend, but a few areas of locally heavy rain possible. High Risk of rip currents along the beaches through Friday. Surf 3-5 ft. Confidence: High – Areas of flooding likely. Moderate – Placement of highest totals.
