The Legislative, executive, and judicial branch

Legislative Branch The legislative branch makes the laws of America. It is a bicameral legislature, composed of the House of Representatives and the Senate. The legislative branch is Congress. Congress checks the president’s power by overriding a veto.

Executive Branch Executive branch is headed by the president, and it carry’s out the nation’s laws and policies. President can check the power of Congress by vetoing, or rejecting, a law that they have passed.

Judicial Branch The judicial branch is the court system that interprets the nation’s laws of America. It is organized into one Supreme Court and hears cases that involve the Constitution, laws passed by Congress, and disputes between states. Supreme Court checks the other two branches by judging the constitutionality of the laws of Congress and of the presidental acts.
