2  The legislative branch is the first branch of the U.S. Constitution.  It is named Congress, and it makes the laws of America.  It is a bicameral legislature, composed of the House of Representatives and the Senate.  Congress has the power to collect taxes, declare war.

3  The executive branch is the second of the branches. The exective branch is headed by the president and he carrys out the nation laws and policies.  The president serves as commander in chief of the armed forces, and conducts relationship with foreign countries.  The exective branch can veto the laws that Congress is trying to pass.

4  The judicial branch is the third of the branches. The judicial branch is the federal court system that interprets the laws of America.  The courts are organized into one Supreme Court. Federal judges are appointed by the president and confirm by the Senate.  The judicial branch explains and applies the laws of America.
