Highlights

FA110 – Introduction to Fine Arts   A General Education Course in the Interdisciplinary Arts Team Taught by faculty in Performing Arts, Music, and Art, Design, and Creative Industries Enrollment varies between 65-105 students depending on enrollment cap.

A State of the Art Transformation Henrion Hall: A State of the Art Transformation

GOAL : To transform the second oldest building on WSU’s campus into a 40,000 square foot, state-of- the-art applied learning facility where the Fine Arts are the catalyst for Learning, Creativity, Entrepreneurship, Collaboration, and Innovation - all within a 21st Century paradigm - expanding the influence of WSU’s Innovation University.

A projected cost of $8 million A joint initiative between Wichita State University and the community it serves and enhances. A projected cost of $8 million The University will provide equal funding to the private dollars raised.

Henrion will contain the following areas: Audio Lab Metalworking Lab Ideas Lab Workbench Woodworking Lab Multimedia Lab Ceramics Lab 3D Lab Printmaking Lab Video Production Lab Commons Area for Uncommon Ideas

Curricular Programming (4 Colleges): 3-D Animation Digital Film-making Game Design Audio Recording Interactive Media Film music composition Film editing Scripting for film and video Internet broadcasting Masters in Innovation Design

Inhabit the facility with a diverse population of stakeholders learning and working side-by-side: Faculty (from all colleges) Students (from all colleges) Staff (from all colleges) Community Members

Provide a stimulating environment through: Abundant natural and ambient lighting Appropriate ventilation for health and safety Open spaces that promote collaboration Areas for display, discussion, and discovery An assortment of elements to stimulate and inspire: Food and Drink (Coffee!) Lounging areas Power stations, materials, and equipment
