How to be an AHP clinician who researches Housekeeping

Council for Allied Health Professionals Research Created in 2014 by bringing together the Research Forum for Allied Health Professionals (RFAHP) and the Allied Health Professions Research Network (AHPRN). Comprises a strategy committee, a professoriate and a UK-wide regional hub network.

CAHPR AIMS to develop AHP research, strengthen evidence of the professions’ value and impact for enhancing service user and community care, to enable the professions to speak with one voice on research issues, to raise the profile of AHP research and increase their influence.

Yorkshire and Humber CAHPR hubs In 2016 the 2 CAHPR hubs - Yorkshire and South Yorkshire started working collaboratively. In 2017 we received joint funding to host a number of activities. What can you do to help CAHPR? Become a member or stakeholder Be willing to share your experiences/ knowledge Share useful resources Host a session or offer accommodation Be willing to support others who are less experienced than you Be a recruiting site for others research

What can you do to help AHP Research? Participate in priority setting exercises Recruit to relevant NIHR portfolio studies Promote the value of research to your patients and encourage them to sign up to research recruitment websites Link with local HEIs or AHP research leads in your area of specialty to express interest in being a recruiting centre for their studies Have contact with your research and development department or specialty research nurses to see if there are any under recruiting studies that your department/ service may be able to assist with recruitment
