This very much follows my experience that Transport Planning is never just about Traffic and Highways. It's far more than that. It's about the places we create and the world that we live in.
Look at what Transport Planning has done in New York.
And look how, through Regeneration projects and through bringing many different disciplines together, Transport Planning (together with architecture and design) can create an environment for people to be happy in.
AND happy people create civilizations.
Unhappy people become angry and they create chaos, instead.
You can see from this that Transport Planning and the Institution that represents our profession is not just about designing roads. It's about creating places for people to flourish in!
