C1 – Hypokinetic disease Answer the following: What is the difference between exercise, sport, and physical fitness? What is hypokinetic disease? What are the risk factors of hypokinetic disease? How have changes in society effected the rate of hypokinetic disease?

C2 – Cardiovascular disease Answer the following: What is atherosclerosis? What increases your risk for CVD? What reduces your risk for CVD? Does inactivity cause heart disease? C3 – physical activity and Obesity Answer the following: How do we define Obese? How do we measure BMI ? What are the pro/cons to this measurement? What risk factors are associated with obesity? Back up your statements with evidence.

C5 – Physical Activity and Bone Health Answer the following: How does bone density change over time? What is the female triad? How does it relate to bone density? What are the major risk factors for Osteoporosis? What is the relationship between Bone health and physical fitness?

C6 – Prescription of exercise for health Answer the following: What are the guidelines for the promotion of good health (think globally and focus on exercise)? What are some barriers to physical activity? Suggest how can we address some of these barriers (be specific).

C7 – Exercise and psychological well-being Answer the following: Define “mood”. How does exercise effect mood? What is the relationship between anxiety and depression. What are strategies for enhancing participation in exercise? What are some negative effects of regular exercise?
