Mercury Class Parent Information

General Information TA- Mrs Cowan Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday mornings Miss Green- Music Teacher- Wednesday before lunch Mr Seymour- Spanish Teacher- Tuesday afternoon Ukulele Lessons, Mrs Snell, Thursday mornings Premier Sport – P.E – Thursday mornings P.E with me- Friday afternoon

Reading Once a week- Guided group, Independent task, independent reading Guided reading group will look at various text types and focus on comprehension style questions. Visit Library Read 4 times a week at home, record using reading record. Checked weekly Please sign the reading record

Spellings Spelling test each week- to be practiced at home. Going home tomorrow for the whole term. Spellings will be taught during SPAG time at the start of Literacy lessons. There may be other spellings given out during the term. E.G relevant Topic words or spelling rules we need to work on.

Big Write Each Friday children will do an independent piece of writing linked to a particular genre- stories, poems, letters, diaries, non-fiction texts, etc

Homework Reading every day or at least 4 times a week Practise spellings for weekly spelling test Cracking Times Tables- House points.
