Wolcott, CT Wolcott, CT sits right next to Waterbury, CT, with 8,018 male residents and 8,444 female residents.

Wolcott’s Water Wolcott’s water comes from the sewers, but of course, this water needs to be cleaned, so we send the water to what is known as a “Water Treatment Plant”. In the water treatment plants, the first go through a bar screen, which separates the raw sewage from the water and puts it in a container. The water moves forward to the grit chamber, which is where the influent flow is slowed down, and heavy solids settle in the bottom of the grit chamber. Soon, the water is then transported to one of the clarifiers, the Primary clarifier. After that, it is sent quickly into the aeration basin, then to the secondary clarifier. The water is chlorinated, then dechlorinated to remove viruses, or is eliminated by ultraviolet (UV) light. After, it is filtered then sent to wetlands, where it gets to our homes around the world.
