雍和宫 Yonghe Palace

雍和宫 Is located in northeastern Beijing; Was first built in 1694 during Qing Dynasty as an emperor’s son’s residency who later became the next emperor (YongZheng); After YongZheng became an emperor, his former residency was changed to the name Yonghe Palace; Later on, Yonghe Palace became a temple for Tibetan Buddhism and a reason was that Emperor Yongzheng believed in Tibetan Buddhism;

雍和宫 Is now the biggest Tibetan temple out of Tibet; Is famous for a statue of Budda which was a present to Emperor Qianlong from Dalai Lama. This is the largest wooden statue of Buddha in the world.
