The Game of Basketball

History Invented by Dr. James Naismith in 1891 Springfield, MA Used peach baskets instead of metal hoops

Basic Rules 5 players on the court for each team 2 points are scored by shooting ball through the hoop Unless it is shot from behind the 3 point line Must bounce the ball on the ground in order to move Fouls are called for too much contact Ball must stay inside boundary lines
