Pacific Private Sector Window (PPSW) GOAL: Sustainable economic growth and job creation in Pacific Island Countries (PICs) through a well-performing private sector Influence of multiple players Long term outcomes Improved social and economic benefits for the people in Pacific Island countries Wider political, social, economic factors in Pacific Island government and communities Increased vibrant, profitable and responsible private sector in PICs Increased quality jobs and incomes for PICs (including for women and youth) Increased exports from PICs Influence of other partners Medium term outcomes (after MFAT funding ceases) Increased sustainability of private sector (and jobs/incomes) in PICs (beyond MFAT funding) Investments across Aid Programme (e.g. economic governance, trade, infrastructure and agriculture) Responsible business ventures supported by MFAT are self sustaining Spinoff viable business and income opportunities created by Pacific peoples Improved jobs and income opportunities for Pacific peoples sustained beyond MFAT funding (comparable numbers, types and $) Improved connections to global markets and supply chains for PICs MFAT supported business ventures increase number and quality of opportunities for Pacific Island people to improve social and economic well-being Short term outcomes (with MFAT funding) Business ventures established/ expanded in PICs when they would not have without MFAT support Improved skills , capability and motivation of Pacific participants (including for women and youth) Improved job, productivity and income opportunities for Pacific participants (including for women and youth) Increased access to networks, skills, innovation and capital, and reduced practical barriers to business growth for Pacific participants (including for women and youth) PPSW-supported NZ companies and their Pacific Island partners Business ventures in PICs (beyond business as usual) undertaken with PIC partner Outputs Business venture A Business venture B Business venture C Business venture D Business venture E Business venture F Inputs Key inputs provided by PPSW to reduce hurdles and risks of NZ company doing business in a PIC MFAT and PPSW applicants Contestable grant funding from MFAT for NZ company to develop a commercially sustainable responsible business venture with social and economic benefits for PICs Advice and guidance in business plan development and implementation (from MFAT expertise and in-country networks ) Sustainable business plans, partnerships, skills, knowledge, networks, IP and investment funds from PPSW applicants
