Worship, Pilgrimage & Sacred Places RE Assessment Year 3 Autumn

Pilgrimage and Sacred Places We have been learning and thinking about journeys that are special to us. We have also been learning and thinking about journeys that are special to Christians and Hindus, and what these journeys mean to them.

Christian Pilgrimage We are going to look at some pictures of a Christian place of pilgrimage. Can you remember what this special place is called? Can you remember why Christians might go on a special journey to this place?

What might Christians do at this special place, and why? How do you think a Christian might feel on a pilgrimage, and why? Have a think on your own first and then talk about your ideas with your partner. Write your ideas down on your whiteboard.

What questions could you ask a Christian about their pilgrimage? What answers do you think a Christian might give, and why? Have a think on your own first and then talk with your partner. Write on your whiteboard what you think.

Hindu Pilgrimage We are going to look at some pictures of a Hindu place of pilgrimage. Can you remember what this special place is called? Can you remember why Hindus might go on a special journey to this place?

What might Hindus do at this special place, and why? How do you think a Hindu might feel on a pilgrimage, and why? Have a think on your own first and then talk about your ideas with your partner. Write your ideas down on your whiteboard.

What questions could you ask a Hindu about their pilgrimage? What answers do you think a Hindu might give, and why? Have a think on your own first and then talk with your partner. Write on your whiteboard what you think.

Pilgrimage What do you think is important about pilgrimages for Christians and Hindus? Have a think on your own first and then write your ideas down on your whiteboard.

Thank you for working hard today!
