2. During the topic of ‘Welcome’ we have…
Talked about our own experiences and feelings of being welcomed AT2(i) /40-60 months
Discussed how we welcome a new born baby into the family and how the family prepares for the new arrival. AT2(i) /40-60 months
Recognised some religious signs and symbols used in Baptism. AT1 (ii) months
Used some religious words and phrases from the rite AT1 (ii) months

3. Talked about our own experiences and feelings of being welcomed AT2(i) 30-50/40-60 months
We talked about how our Buddies made us feel welcome when we started school, and why it is important to make people welcome in our school. We talked about what we need to welcome a baby into our family and role played a party to welcome the new life!

4. We all have a special family!
We drew pictures of our families and labelled them. We know that our families are very special.

5. We discussed what happens when a baby is baptised and learnt some of the words from the rite. AT1(ii) (30-50/40-60 months)
We learned about the font, the candle, the special clothes and the role of the priest, parents and Godparents. We role played baptism and said the words, “In the name of the Father, and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.”

6. We talked about some of the signs and symbols of baptism
We talked about some of the signs and symbols of baptism. AT1(ii) (30-50/40-60 months)
We chose pictures which reminded us of baptism and tried very hard to label them. We also chose pictures to add to a baptism certificate for our doll in Reception Class! During Celebration Time we looked at items which reminded us of our own Baptisms.

7. We have taken part in class liturgies to reflect on what we have learnt. AT1(ii) (30-50/40-60 months)
We made signs to welcome people into our class and displayed them in the Chapel for our liturgy. We remembered everything we learnt about baptism and discussed what we knew. We thanked God for making us welcome.
